Chiltern Nurseries Limited are 3 independent day nurseries in Surrey, Chiltern Day Nursery, Glaisdale Day Nursery and Lynton House Day Nursery. We have worked closely with Gary & Emma Ward – the Directors at Chiltern Nurseries since 2012 and have supported them to achieve 71 apprenticeships in both Early Years and management qualifications. 59 different members of staff completed qualifications, and 12 members of staff completed 2 or more qualifications, showing how the nursery use apprenticeship as part of their staff development programme.
The nurseries have been advocates of apprenticeships and how key they are to the success of their business, ensuring that staff are all qualified to meet the “full & relevant” compliance requirement. They do not only provide the minimum level of training, but they also pride themselves in providing high quality training and support to their staff, ensuring staff have experience in all age groups and where possible, across the group of nurseries so that they learn how to work in different environments.
We have worked very closely with Chiltern Nurseries to devise, design, develop & deliver on their Early Years Educator apprenticeships, but also helped design Team Leader
programmes for Room Leaders and Deputy Room Leaders and Management Level 3 & 5 apprenticeships for their Nursery Managers and Deputy Nursery Managers, supporting their succession planning.
To show their commitment to ensuring that all apprentices are supported in-house too, they trained a member of staff in each nursery to be a qualified Assessor, supporting us to carry our formal observations and assessments. This also gave them the ability to support with assignments and support our assessors to ensure timely achievement.
